worn
by
Louisa
Lethbridge
at
a
banquet
given
by
the
Duke
of
Devonshire
before
she
left
England
with
her
family
on
the
voyage
to
New
Zealand
aboard
the
the
Oriental.
She
arrived
in
New
Plymouth
with
her
family
on
7
November
1841.
The
shawl
was
taken
to
Nelson
by
Mrs
Lethbridge's
daughter,
Mrs
Goodman
in
1862
and
was
passed
down
through
further
generations.
