Description
Farm worker named Ryan welding a metal pipe, Urenui. Ryan is kneeling near the entrance of a workshop wearing overalls and a welding mask. He is framed against the open door of the workshop. The photograph is from a series of six photographs called "Taranaki Farm Boys", first shown at Gallery Impaire, Paris, France. The series documents farming environments photographer Maia McDonald both grew up with and worked within. Her photographs aim to portray her subjects' strength of character and an evocative sense of place.
