The first Taylor home and 'Rosanagh', Ngaere

Production date
Unknown
Description
A copy photograph of the Taylor family's first home in Ngaere, pictured in the foreground. The house was a one-room cottage constructed by Theodore Taylor between the purchase of the land in late 1879 and the arrival of his family in June 1880. The second Taylor home is visible behind the cottage and was built in 1886. A fence and row of trees are pictured in front of the cottage. The 'Rosanagh' property belonged to Theodore and Ada Taylor, parents of James Chapman-Taylor. They named the property 'Rosanagh' after Theodore's father's birthplace, Rosanna, in Ireland.
