Description
View of 'Tupare' under construction, 487 Mangorei Road, New Plymouth. Small-paned casement windows are installed in the reinforced concrete walls. Cedar tiles from Canada can be seen on the roof. A ladder is propped against the house and other building materials are visible around the house. 'Tupare' was designed by Chapman-Taylor in 1932 for Russell and Mary Matthews and their family. Differences in opinion led to Chapman-Taylor leaving the job before the house was completed.
