Description
An Electronics for Hearing PDBVI model visual indicator with a rectangular base with a light on the front along with an On/Off switch and a Mains button. The base has a fitting mounted on top for a lightbulb with a bayonet fitting. The reverse of the indicator has three input sockets labelled " Phone " " Door " and " Baby ". " Electronics for Hearing / Model PDBVI / Serial No 954003 " is also marked on the reverse. An electric cord is also attached to the reverse. " ELECTRONICS / for / HEARING Ltd " is marked on a gold coloured sticker on the base. " ANOTHER LIONS / PROJECT " is marked on a larger gold coloured sticker on one end of the indicator.

This visual indicator was used at the New Plymouth Hearing Association rooms in Lemon Street to provide alerts for those staffing the centre who were hearing impaired. The lightbulb fitted in the device was designed to flash to alert people to the fact the phone was ringing, or there was somebody at the door.
