Description
Collection of eight photographs depicting some of the changes that took place on the corner of Egmont and Rangi Streets between 1927 and 1934. Included are photographs of the Egmont Motors building and staff, the temporary premises of F.M Black Motor Engineer, and the view along Egmont Street, looking towards Devon Street taken in 1928.
The people in the first image are from left to right: Oswald George, Manager; Oswald Thomas, garage attendant of Egmont Motors; Scotty Black; Roy Burkitt, apprentice mechanic (Blacks Garage); Dick Lawson, Opunake bus driver and John Mowat who was Scotty Black's brother-in-law and a mechanic.
