This wallet belonged to Lance Corporal Claude Alan Jordan (who was known as Alan). He served with the British 9th Regiment of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps during World War I and was awarded the Military medal. While the record of the service number indicates it was likely to have been used during his war service it is clear he also used it to store various important documents in civilian life as well.
