Adze
Description
A hafted stone adze with a wooden handle which is oval in cross section. The blade is lashed to the handle with split rattan. There is also a longer wooden haft with an oval cross section that flares at one end which has a hole drilled through it to take the blade and smaller haft. " Gogodola canoe adze. Balimo WP PNG " is written on a label attached to the long wooden haft. These two pieces are separated.
