Production date
Circa 1930
Description
View of the front entrance of 'Wilkinson's Castle', Pukearuhe. "Caw / 1930" and Chapman-Taylor's intials are etched into the render above the entrance. A large wooden beam is set into the wall at the start of the entrance and exposed wooden beams are visible along the roofline. One of the wooden doors that lead into the house is ajar, showing a glimpse of the courtyard beyond. The caption beneath a copy of this photograph in Chapman-Taylor's album for 'Wilkinson's Castle' reads: "The Front Entrance & doors of 4" thick Jarrah. The Great Rata Beam in place. A Peep through to the Inner Court."
