I was there same time as Ngaire Dewes 1974 to 1976. I do remember some girls names but many had nick names. Lily Moetu. Shirley Hepi, Delina Clark, Diane Lewis. Pearl Bishop, Liz Snowden. First names for other girls that I remember were Lucy, Beryl, Aroha, Esmae? Taumata, Pauline, Norma, Raewyn who came from Patea. I think Kura and her sister Margaret Rangitonga were there together but one older than the other. One girl I remember by the surname was kawhena ?- not good because she was my relation like some of them were- they were from the King Country/Waikato but didn't come back then next year. Then there are the girls with nic names like - Drac and pussycat-cant remember their real names. Cant remember if Maurice Jones - I think that's her name - was there in 1974 or not but she came from Havelock North in the Hawkes Bay - where I live now. Our matrons name was Mrs Curtis. At that time they had a girl and a boy (cant remember their names) I cant remember the name of lady sitting with Mrs Curtis either and I cant remember the name of the cook-I think we called her Mrs Cook - lol.
