This ship, and her identical sister Port Caroline, which visited 7 months later, were the largest refrigerated ships in the world at the time.

hi ,i was the deck boy on board , i joined her at the tail of the bank glasgow,, we visited new plymouth wellington and of course port chalmers, my name is dave hannan ,while i was in port chalmers i nfound a shop with the same name hannan , but never got the chance to meet the owners i would have loved to know if somehow we may have been related,

This was the occassion of the maiden voyage of the Port Chalmers in May 1968 with New Plymouth being the ship's first NZ port of call. This ship, and her identical sister Port Caroline, which visited 7 months later, were, at the time, the largest refrigerated ships in the world.
