Description
A King's South Africa medal. The obverse features a bust of King Edward VII in filed marshal's uniform. " EDWARDVS VII REX IMPERATOR " is embossed around the outside. Britannia holding a flag and a laurel out towards a crowd below her is featured on the reverse. " SOUTH AFRICA" is embossed near the top. "3847 SAPR. M. O'CONNELL. R.E." is marked on the edge of the medal. The medal is attached to a ribbon of three equal stripes of green, white and orange which is mounted on cardboard. Two clasps are mounted on it. " SOUTH AFRICA 1901" and " SOUTH AFRICA 1902 ".
