Apparently Mary Bishop who arrived with her parents in1842 on the Timandra, met a good looking and striking Maori man called Wiremu Tutu Tehana. Apparently she popped the question to Wiremu "will you marry me". The wedding scandalized the New Plymouth settlement at the time. Could this photo be of Mary Bishop, and Wiremu Tutu Tehana of The Hua Village BellBlock.
