A New Zealand Medal. The silver medal features a left facing profile of Queen Victoria on the obverse. " VICTORIA D:G:BRITT:REG:F.D " is embossed around the edge of the profile. A wreath is featured on the reverse with " NEW ZEALAND VIRTUTIS HONOR " embossed around the edge of it. " T COLSON. TARANAKI MILITIA " is marked on the edge.The medal is topped by a straight suspension bar ornamented with fern leaf designs. A replacement ribbon accompanies the medal but it is not attached.
