 Description
A plastic bottle of methanol manufactured at the Petralgas plant in the Waitara Valley. The bottle features a red, white and black emblem with a large " P / NZ " on the front. " FIRST PRODUCT FROM / METHANOL PLANT / WAITARA " is typed on a paper label stuck to the front. The bottle is approximately 80% full.

This bottle was the first sample of methanol drawn off from the Waitara Valley plant on 25 October 1983 at 5am. This bottle was presented to the General Manager of the plant George Siegleman. Two other commemorative bottles were sent to the Prime Minister Robert Muldoon and National Development Minister Bill Birch.
