This set of plaster, gilt edged cameos by an unknown maker are after Bertel Thorvaldsen, one of the most important European representatives of Neo-Classicist sculptural art. The set of cameos are framed and mounted behind glass but it appears they originally were contained in albums. Album covers relating to these cameos provide individual identification of each cameo. This set belonged to Peter and Helen Wilson.
