View of outdoor boxing match between Tommy Donovan, a fireman from Waitara, and American Pete Sarron at Western Park, New Plymouth, 15 March 1930. The boxing ring is pictured centre with seating erected around the ring. Three figures are visible inside the ring. One of the two boxers has been knocked to his knees. Large crowd seated around ring and spectators are also visible on the terraces around the sportsground.
