 Description
Noel Jordan was the son of Claude Borlase and Lillian Jordan, brother of Allan, Dorothea and Majorie Jordan.
He enlisted on the 1st May 1916 with the 12th Reinforcements, Auckland Infantry Battalion, A Company. Regimental number: 11486. Occupation at enlistment, ploughman. He transferred to the Taranaki Company, 2nd Wellington Infantry Regiment, N.Z.E. F., killed in action at the Battle of the Somme, 2 October 1916, aged 20.
Collection includes letters written by Noel to his family while on active service, a transcript of a war journal kept by Noel, certificates, a memorial scroll and photographs.
