Diana Elizabeth Smith (nee Jordan) (1928-2016) grew up in the Bay of Plenty at Oropi and Tauranga. The daughter of Claude Alan and Eleanor Henrietta Elizabeth Jordan (nee Tobin), she trained as a librarian and worked at Auckland Public Libraries 1947-1957 and Whanganui 1957-1970. She met the Reverend Norman B. Smith in August 1964 and the couple married on 27 April 1970. They lived in Palmerston North, Featherston and Manaia before retiring to New Plymouth in 1983.
This collection contains personal correspondence, a diary dated1939-1945, academic and professional documents, genealogical research notes and memoirs, plus photographs and newspaper clippings relating to Diana Smith, the Jordan and Tobin and extended families.
