This tea cup and saucer are part of a tea set that is thought to be one of 12 tea sets made to commemorate the founding of the Inglewood Borough in 1903. The set is thought to have been purchased from a Waimate woman by the Inglewood Borough Council in 1960. The Inglewood Borough Council became part of the New Plymouth District Council in the 1989 local government reforms.
