Description
The Patriotic Carnival in Opunake, 1915. The carnival leader sits on his horse and leads a band and floats down a street in Opunake. He is wearing a top hat. People can be seen mingling on the road and footpaths as they watch the procession pass by. Shops line both sides of the road. The photograph has a white band just underneath the title "Patriotic Carnival Opunake 17-18 Aug 1915" ,which is handwritten approximately one third of the way up from the bottom of the photograph.
