Sailing ship Selma. My Grandfather was Captain Johan Adolph Bach b. 17 Sept. 1834 in Norway.. They sailed from England and were presumed wrecked somewhere off coast of America in 1893 and lost with all hands. My Grandmother later moved family to New Zealand leaving oldest son Charles in England as he was married. She took with them the original oil painting of the Selma which my mother Lily Andrews nee Bach inherited. Mum later had five photos taken of the Selma for us five children and had the original oil painting returned to Uncle Charlie in England.
