Description
A baby's cradle made out of wooden cheese crates from the Oaonui Dairy Factory. The two ends of the cradle are made from the 12 sided ends of cheese crates and are joined by nine wooden slats which have been nailed in place. A black stamp featuring a fern design with "NEW ZEALAND" printed on it is prominent on one end. "CRATE NO. / OAONUI / NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE / Reg No. 492 / LBS / NET / N.Z CHEDDAR CHEESE" is also part of the stamp. The same stamp, in a more faded condition, features on the interior of the other end. A plain, stuffed mattress is on the base of the interior.
