A cardboard New Plymouth City Tramways pass. The small pass has a maroon cover with gold lettering on it. " NEW PLYMOUTH / BOROUGH TRAMWAYS / PASS " . The pass itself reads " NEW PLYMOUTH CITY TRAMWAYS / THIS PASS entitles bearer to travel / FREE on all City Lines at all times. / Issued subject to Tramways By-Laws / and Regulations. Must be shown on / demand or fare paid. / This Pass expires on March 31, 195" is written on the pass and dotted lines are provided for personal details. " C. Ward / Electricity Dept./ Engineers Asst. ". " This pass expires on March 31, 1955 " is written near the bottom and validated by the signature of an " Asst Manager" . "30.3.54" is the date the pass was issued.
