"Arrival of Governor Jervois in Taranaki, Saturday Oct 27th 1883"

The majority of the crowd is standing but some are sitting on horses or are in carriages. Some also hold umbrellas. A group of children are pictured singing the national anthem in front of the Government Buildings. Jervois was Governor of New Zealand from 20 January 1883 until 22 March 1889.
