Phil Ramsdale bought this television from Newton King Ltd, Devon Street East, New Plymouth in the late 1970s for $1495. It was a 'top of the line' set at the time and it subsequently proved its worth. It was regularly viewed until 2007, and never needed to be repaired or serviced. In this time, the set was involved in over 30 house moves, in New Plymouth and Wellington. The only reason it was replaced was that it only received TV1 and TV2, with TV3 being received via a much new VCR. It was the video recorder that broke and needed to be fixed. The T.V itself was still in perfect working order.
