A hand-drawn map by Margaret Sinclair from her memory of how the township of Tāngarākau was set out. Also two typed reminiscences of Tāngarākau by siblings Howard Sinclair and Margaret Sinclair. Howard and Margaret grew up in Tāngarākau, living there during the 1920s and 1930s.

The records include 2 registers recording the names, sex, dates of birth, registration, vaccination, and parentage for children vaccinated in the Eltham district for the years 1899-1913, 1913-1917. Also correspondence and circulars dealing with vaccination requirements, chiefly in the Eltham and Hawera district for the years 1901-1905.
Vaccination Registers were required under Part 1V of the Public Health Act of 1876, and contain details of all notices of vaccination given by a local Registrar, and of all certificates of successful and unsuccessful vaccination received by him as Vaccination Inspector for his district. The entries are cross-referenced to the district Birth Register.
