Exterior view of Tutahi Church, Nukumaru. Graves/memorial stones are visible in the grounds of the church. The name "Tutahi" is hung above the church door. Tutahi Church is reputed to be built on the site of Tauranga Ika pa, which was abandoned by Titokowaru on the eve of battle in February 1869.

Copy photograph of a studio portrait of Lieutenant Thomas Ormsby Johnstone, 40th Regiment, who died in the battle of Nukumaru, Waverley, on 25 January 1865. Johnstone is seated and is holding a cane between his legs. He is wearing a suit jacket with a waistcoat and has a long beard. The photograph is included on page 11 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".

He is shown from the waist up wearing a jacket with a fob watch. He has a moustache and short beard and is looking off to his right.
