Shows side view of tauihu outside the meeting house at Owae marae. Tauihiu was found in a swamp north of the marae. The tauihu is in excellent condition - including a complete forward facing figure at the front of the prow. The head of this figure has subsequently been broken off and misplaced.

Mannie was a keen cyclist and won the Round the Mountain of 1932, the Palmerston North to Wellington ride of 1935 and he had the fastest time in the Christchurch to Timaru ride of 1938.
