Princesses and Queen of the 1936 Inglewood Primary School Queen Carnival. Pictured left to right: Sybil Bennett, Peggy Alleman (Queen), Barbara Grant and Agnes Lovell (now Brabin, aged 7 in picture). The carnival was a fundraising event where the parents of the four princesses had to raise money and the princess whose family raised the most money was crowned Queen. All four girls are wearing long dresses and holding flowers. The Queen has a crown on her head and wears a long cloak. Cups that were presented to each girl are placed at their feet. Carnival was held in the Inglewood Town Hall.

Copy photograph of Colonel G.J. Carey. Carey was Second in Charge of the Imperial Forces in New Zealand in 1861. He is shown from the chest up with his photograph cut out and pasted onto a round piece of paper. Carey appears to be wearing military uniform and he has a moustache and full beard. The photograph is included on page 27 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
