The ribbon has a watered orange centre with stripes of black and white at the sides and royal blue edges. It is mounted as part of a group of three.

A Military Cross. The silver ornamental cross has straight arms which terminate with broad finials that each feature an imperial crown. The cypher of King George V features at the centre. It is attached to a ribbon of three equal stripes of white, dark purple, and and white by a plain silver suspension bar. It is mounted as part of a medal group of three.

" THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919 " is marked on the reverse inside a leaf design. "3/2147 T/ MAJOR R.C. BREWSTER N.Z.E.F." is inscribed on the edge. The ribbon is a double rainbow colour with crimson on the edges and red in the centre and the medal is mounted as part of a group of three.
