A 1914-15 Star. The bronze crowned four pointed star also features crossed swords and a wreath of oak leaves with the royal cypher at the foot. " 1914-15 " is embossed on a central scroll. Inscribed ""12/1020 2/LT. F.W. WATSON N.Z.E.F." The star is attached to a watered red, white and blue striped ribbon by a simple ring and is mounted as part of a medal group of four.

" THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919 " is marked on the reverse inside a leaf design. " Capt. E.M. King, R.A.F." is inscribed on the edge. The ribbon is a double rainbow colour with crimson on the edges and red in the centre.

The ribbon has a watered orange centre with stripes of black and white at the sides and royal blue edges.
