The tank also has an angled pump mechanism and filler cap on top of it and a handle with a wooden grip is attached. A drip tray is fitted below the burner mechanism and there is an outlet for the tank which can be accessed from the underside only. " OTTO BERNZ CO. " is marked in raised letters on the burner. " OTTO BERNZ CO. / INC. / ROCHESTER / N.Y. / BURN CLEAN / STRAIGHT / RUN / FUEL " is marked on the underside of the tank in raised letters.

Name/Title
An engraved silver pocket watch complete with chain and brass key. " PRESENTED / TO / Sergt Major Oldfield / BY THE NON COMD. OFFICERS / AND CONSTABLES / OF PUKEARUHE / STATION / TARANAKI / AS A MARK OF THEIR / ESTEEM " is elaborately engraved on the reverse of the movement. " B CLARKE & Co. / LONDON / 40716 " is written on the white face of the movement. The face is covered in glass and it also features a small seconds dial. " R J P " is stamped on the underside of the lid of the case and there are various makers marks stamped on it as well.

A wooden plaque shaped like a shield with a brass light switch mounted on it. "Presented by the/MAYORESS OF NEW PLYMOUTH/ON THE OCCASION OF THE/ INAUGURATION OF THE ELECTRIC LIGHTING/OF THE TOWN Jan 1906/By the Brush Electrical Engineering Co Ltd" is inscribed on a metal plate which is screwed onto the plaque. Two metal rings are attached to the reverse with a strand of white cord tied to them.

Name/Title
A white leather apron lined edged in pale green with three pale green rosettes and brass twisted metal 'rope' decorations. The belt has an S-shaped hook in the form of a snake. The apron was held in a brown leather pouch with a flap and a hinged clasp. " Bro A R STRANG / ERMINE LODGE No.2851 / LINCOLN " is marked on the front of the pouch. The pouch also contains a certificate relating to Alexander Strang and two small masonic publications.

Name/Title
A basic Sikes Hydrometer held in a custom made polished mahogany case and accompanied by a book of tables, two wooden slide rulers and a thermometer mounted on an ivory base. The case, which is lined in parts with purple velvet contains a calibrated brass float, nine brass weights (one original one is missing), and the rulers and thermometer. " SYKES HYDROMETER / LITTLEJOHN & SON / WELLINGTON " is marked on an ivory plate set into the lid. A paper label with various calibration information is also stuck on the lid which includes a signature and a date " 9/11/34 " and "Thermometer Correct " The hydrometers serial number " 8183 " is stamped on various parts. The hardback book of tables has a title page which reads " SIKES' TABLES / OF THE / CONCENTRATED STRENGTH / OF / SPIRITS, / WITH DIRECTIONS FOR THE USE OF HIS / HYDROMETER / ESTABLISHED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED KINGDOM FOR ESTIMATING / THE DUTIES OF SPIRITUOUS LIQUIDS / By Act of Parliament , 58 Geo. III, cap. 28 / TO WHICH IT IS ADDED / TABLES OF SPECIFIC GRAVITY / ADAPTED TO THE USE OF THE HYDROMETER / REVISED EDITION. The manual also has a number of handwritten notes in it. " Edwin Don " is handwritten in the front of the manual.

This machine was used to manufacture stockings and gloves - but it is not complete. Important parts like the round cam cylinder, or shell, the winder, needles, weights, the swift and crank wheel are contained in a long deep wooden box with a double hinged lid. This machine came from the "Beehive Knitting Machine and Hosiery Co. N.Z. ". c.1921

This heater consists of a large copper frame with a nave like inset containing two electric sockets, and two copper spring like clips. The socket is held, and the clips supported by two long dowsing bulbs,
however, there is one bulb missing. The one off switch is located at the front of the frame, and the electric cord enters the heater at the back of the frame. Approx date 1904-15.

Name/Title
An Improved Patent Magneto Electric Machine. The deep rectangular wooden box with a double hinged lid contains a brass frame with a large magnet at one side, a driving wheel at the other, and twin blue felt covered revolving coils between the magnet and the wheel. The crank handle is on the outside of the box, and a terminal is at each end. Two leads with round hollow brass handgrips are designed to apply the electric current to the patient. Modern black insulation tape has been wrapped around where the lead joins to the brass handgrips. Instructions and promotional material features on the interior of the lid.
