Ambrotype of Mrs Anne Woon, wife of Garland William Robert Woon, holding her son James. Mrs Woon is wearing a bonnet with a shawl-like attachment to it. The bonnet is tied in a bow under her chin. James is blurred, having moved while the image was being exposed. Inscription on rear of ambrotype reads: "Anne wife of Garland W R Woon, eldest son of W J Woon, with their baby James Richard age 8 months, Wanganui Sept 1858". Ambrotype is housed in a metal enclosure, which may possibly have been removed from a leather case previously. The enclosure has an embossed edge.

Portrait depicts Mrs Fletcher seated with her hands on her lap and Mr Fletcher standing behind her with one hand resting on the back of her chair. In his other hand he is holding a book, the spine of which he is resting on a small circular table covered with a tablecloth. The portrait is hand tinted. Contained in an embossed leather case with gold designs painted around the edges front and back. An embossed gold metal matt surrounds the ambrotype with an embossed metal edge around the matt. The inside of the case's lid is lined with embossed crimson velvet. The case has two clasps on the right hand side. A note adhered to the case's lid reads: "J. H. J. K. Fletcher: Brisbane / To Mr Mrs Flight: Taranaki / In token of many kindly remembrances / June 9 1863 [?]"

The black lacquer on the rear of the glass plate has only been painted up to Mrs Proust's neck, turning the upper portion of the image negative when it is not held against something black (see second image).

The man and woman depicted in the ambrotype are seated and have their hands clasped in their laps. The man has a moustache and wears circular spectacles, a high neck collar and large bow tied at the throat. The woman is wearing a dress with a white lace collar and cameo at the throat. Her hair is parted in the middle and is covered with a dark lace head piece. Hand tinting is apparent on the man's waistcoat and woman's dress buttons and cameo brooch. The photographic print is adhered to a sheet of paper fitted into the case's lid. It depicts an elderly woman who is seated and knitting. She is wearing a dress, beaded necklaces, white lace bonnet and circular spectacles. It is presumed that she is the same woman pictured in the ambrotype portrait.
