He is shown standing wearing light-toned pants, a dark waistcoat and dark jacket. His right hand is in his pocket. He has a moustache and full sideburns. Ethel Eva Boardman (1902-1994) was the daughter of Frederick Hobdill and Annie Elizabeth Boardman (nee Wright). Born in Oaonui, she married Ernest William (Bill) Briscoe in 1920 and died in Opunake in 1994.
