A small bird. It is predominately yellow with a black throat, wings and tail. There is a small marking of black around each eye. The flight feathers are black with white tips. The beak is black and straight. The yellow has a slight orange tinge to it. The beak is slightly opened. The legs are stretched out towards the end of the tail.

It is a small finch like bird. Predominately yellow and black. It has a yellow crown giving it its name. The throat is black and so is the belly and wings. The chest has a band of yellow. The beak is black and the legs are pale. It has a short tail with light black/grey flight feathers.

A bird specimen. "Ceblepyris pectoralis..." is written on a tag attached to the leg. Possibly originally collected by William Swainson.
The bird is a grey colour. The back of the body and head of the bird is light grey and the flight feathers of the wings and tail is a dark grey/black colour. The underside belly is white.
The bird is preserved with wings closed and legs flat against the body. The beak is triangular and is broader than most birds of similar size.

The flight feathers are black with white spots. The tag around the leg says ' Brachylophius hemipodius (Picus Bengalensisa Auct.), (No74_ India. The identification is possibly a synonym.

Stomach contents of a male Long-tailed Cuckoo contained in formalin in a glass phial bottle with white plastic screw on lid. Salmon pink coloured label attached to phial reads as follows: "Eudynamis taitensis / Long-tailed cuckoo / Oanui (sic) Urenui / 15/3/67 / J Clark" on one side; and "Stomach contents / 1 green stick Insect / (Clitarchus lacviusculus) / 2 Hemideina megacepala (weta)" on the other.

Contents have been transfered to new jar with 70% ethanol. All information from the pink label copied to waterproof paper
