Homestead and barn at Merton on the outskirts of New Plymouth. Cleared land, felled trees and stumps are visible in the foreground. A single cow is situated in the lower right corner. The cottage was originally called "French's house" when Henry and James Richmond lived in it in May 1851. The cottage was enlarged and improved to become "New Merton" and became the Richmond's first homestead.

Early New Plymouth street scene depicting the corner of Brougham and Devon Streets. Three buildings in middleground with horse and cart standing on road in front. Middle shop has a small golden boot at front. This shop belonged to boot maker Thomas Wood, and was called "The Golden Boot". Methodist Church can just be seen top left on the hill. A small number of people stand around the block of buildings.

The picture depicts part of the Puke Ariki Landing (the stone sculpture designed and partially carved by Sopolemalama Filipe Tohi with carving assistance from Maurice Whitehead and others. Also gardens and park bench). Also shown is the central city end of St Aubyn Street - pre the 1996 demolition showing the National Dairy Association building, which later became Gilmour's Auction and a Paddy's Market beside which is the Messenger-designed building that later is incorporated into Puke Ariki's facade. This building was the warehouse of businessman Charles Anderson Wilkinson.

Watercolour painting made from a 1930s photograph of the Smart Bros. Ltd. plumbing, tinsmithing, and electrical company premises on corner of Brougham and Powderham Streets, New Plymouth. The painting shows the large building with a red roof and a sign on the left side that reads 'SMART BROS. LTD. OFFICES, STORE ROOMS' and another sign on the right that reads 'SMART BROS. LTD. [PLUMBING ELECTRICAL (partially visible)]. There are two large power poles in front of the building on either side of the corner, and several vehicles parked along the street on the left and one on the right. There is a man visible in the shop window on the right wearing a blue shirt and blue overalls. He has been identified as Leslie Allen Smart, son of Allan Kiddy Smart (one of the original three Smart brothers along with George and Herbert) and father of Brian Smart, who commissioned the painting. The dog sitting outside the building in the centre of the image has been identified as Skip, who belonged to Arthur Lawrence Smart. The painting is framed with a beige mat with the title included in it and a mottled brown and gold frame.

George Smart established his business in Stratford in 1892 and was joined by his brothers when he expanded into New Plymouth. Allan Smart was one of the first registered electricians in New Plymouth. The company ran until c1957.

Ink and watercolour painting of buildings on Brougham Street. The orange-tinted building on the left, designed by architect J.T. Edmonds, was constructed in 1884 as the premises of the New Plymouth Investment and Loan Society. The green-tinted building was constructed in 1896 by lawyer Robert Clinton Hughes as offices for his legal firm and was designed by architect W.F. Brooking. The buildings were combined in 1995 to form Andre's L'Escargot restaurant which closed in 2013 and reopened as the 'Mexico' restaurant in 2014.

It shows the fictional television character Xena from the fantasy adventure series "Xena: Warrior Princess" riding a horse on the hill above New Plymouth's Back Beach. The Xena character was played by New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless. The Sugar Loaf Islands are visible off the coast. The original painting is part of Kirk's "Superheroes in New Zealand" paintings series.

The comet is depicted as a glowing white orb with a tail of vivid reds and oranges against a starry night sky. The streetscape below is largely deserted except for one lone figure and a parked car. The metal railings of a bike stand and a bed of orange flowers run along the print's foreground. There is a bicycle in the bike stand.

Mixed media painting of the artist's dachshund, Jess. The dog is pictured sleeping on her back on the right of the painting. She is rendered in browns, ochre, black, red and white. The abstract background incorporates several page fragments of a South African phone book and features a range of colours including yellow, purple, green, blue, red and white. The brushstrokes are very expressive and the paint surface is heavily textured. Anne Holliday often reworks previous paintings and in 2008 this artwork was originally a painting of an insect.

Name/Title
An assemblage sculpture constructed from a wooden Singer sewing machine cover (orientated on its side), a taxidermied canary, an artificial lemon tree and a page of printed sheet music. The taxidermied canary is perched on top of the artificial lemon tree, which is mounted on a painted wooden base and attached to the side of the Singer sewing machine cover. Inside, the sheet music is glued to the top of the cover. The sheet music includes the words "bring back the dead?" The sheet music is from a score based on Janet Frame's poem "Some Thoughts on Bereavement". The stanza's singled out by the artist read: "In loss the trees bear stings, and flowers / carry pain as if it were honey. / The sun is cruel. The daylight does not / understand or why does it not bring / back the dead?" The artificial lemon tree was collected by the artist from a midden at a cemetery. The taxidermied canary, a deaccessioned collection item from the Taranaki Museum, was gifted to the artist when the museum was shifting the collection before their new facility - now known as Puke Ariki - was opened in 2003.
