Text accompanying photographic images (handwritten in pale pink, blue and white paint) reads as follows: "Presented to / Captain F.W. Okey, / by the Officers, Non-Commissioned officers / and Men of the Taranaki Rifle Volunteers / as a mark of esteem / June 3rd 1907". Above the eight portraits is a black and white photographic image of the Taranaki Rifles Volunteers, 1907. Surrounding all photographic images is a beige coloured mat upon which is painted an elaborately scrolled shield-like shape. Motifs surrounding the outside of the shield include a set of colours, fern leaves and two rifles (at lower edge). Handpainted in black along lower edge is the following: "Alf Lee, del / J. Hooker & Co., / New Plymouth / Photos by COLLIS, N.P." Plain wooden frame - greenish black in the centre panel and lighter shade of green on either side edge.

Family album includes studio portraits of Ruthven McLauren Monteath in full dress military uniform c.1916 and group portraits taken in the field during service. The album also contains Monteath family photographs within New Zealand and abroad, including the family home on Octavius Place New Plymouth. Many of the photographs in the second half of the album are post-WWI and are unidentified.

Red leather bound photograph album with the title "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected therewith" embossed in gold lettering on the cover. The album is compiled by William Francis Robert Gordon and contains 455 photographic copies of original photographs, mostly carte-de-visite portraits of people related to the New Zealand Wars. It is assumed most of these copies were taken by Gordon himself. Most of the photographs are silver gelatin chloride printing-out paper prints, with the exception of five albumen prints, six silver gelatin bromide developing-out paper prints and six photomechanical reproductions. A portion of the imagery in the album is loosely ordered into regiments.
