Name/Title
Circular silver pendant with a fake clock face and roman numerals engraved around the face. It has a large suspension eyelet at top around which is tied a black strap of fabric with a small heart shaped metal charm. The pendant opens out with the bottom half being a spring operated coin dispenser and the top half lined with red fabric. The coin features a profile portrait of a man with a moustache.

Fan
A cream-coloured brisé fan made of fine guardsticks of ivory or bone. The fan has nineteen guardsticks that are held together by a brass rivet and a silk ribbon that is weaved through. Each guardstick is 2.5cm wide at the top and tapers to 0.5cm at the bottom. They are finely carved with abstract shapes that are identical on the inside seventeen sticks. The two sticks on the outside ends have different matching shapes than those on the inside. The fan is finished with two cream-coloured tassels attached to the brass rivet which is made of cotton thread with a small white bead on each.

The pin on the back has been broken off. A "9CT " hallmark is stamped on the rear.

A small black notebook containing lined pages secured by two rusted staples. Inside front cover has 1916 and 1917 calendars. Inside back cover has a "Ready Reckoner and Marketing Table" and "POSTAL INFORMATION" section. First page has "15665 M. W. Beattie" handwritten and underlined in pencil. The remaining text is also handwritten in pencil and details the index and content of the following filled in pages. The subject matter is military and contains instructions and guidelines on handling equipment and techniques to use. Penultimate page has a pencil rubbing of a coin.

Resulting damage caused by a fire on Devon Street, New Plymouth. The buildings damaged were on the north side of Devon Street, just east of the Egmont Street intersection. The businesses damaged in the fire were the Grand Coffee Palace, photographer C. P. Cottier's premises, the Dresden Piano Company, land agent J. C. Davies' premises and the London Dental Institute. Photograph depicts five figures standing in the smashed upper windows of the Dresden Piano Company and three figures standing in the smashed upper windows of the London Dental Institute. Fire damage is evident to the outside of the buildings pictured.

Premises of E. M. Smith, licensed gun maker, Devon Street, New Plymouth. Three men stand on the front steps of the shop while another two men occupy the footpath outside the store. It has been speculated that the owner, Edward Metcalf Smith stands on the step in the main entrance. Edward was the Armourer to the Colonial Forces in Taranaki as well as Member of Parliament for the Liberal Party in Taranaki for thirteen years.

Large crowd gathered outside the Government Buildings on Devon Street, New Plymouth, to welcome Governor Lieutenant-General Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois to Taranaki. The majority of the crowd is standing but some are sitting on horses or are in carriages. Some also hold umbrellas. A group of children are pictured singing the national anthem in front of the Government Buildings. Jervois was Governor of New Zealand from 20 January 1883 until 22 March 1889.

Earp is wearing a suit and the woman is wearing a checkered dress with a lace collar. The portrait is hand tinted. Earp has a silver fob chain and gold buttons added and the woman has a gold brooch and a fleck of gold on her hand (presumably to indicate a wedding ring). The woman also holds a book in one hand, which has some gold highlighting added to it. The portrait has a gold metal matt and a patterned metal frame around the matt. The portrait is contained in a leather-bound case, possibly removed from a lidded case.
