A dessert plate decorated with a pink and white flower and a bud, large leaves and a gold rim. "Spear Leaved Geranium" and "Spode" are written on the base and a sticker with "ATKINSON/Pitt Street" handwritten on it is stuck to the base.
A Spode dessert plate decorated with large pink flower, flower bud, leaf and a gold rim. " Broad leaved Monsonia " and " Spode " are written on the base. The remnants of a sticker remain on the base of the plate.
A hand painted dessert plate decorated with a yellow flower, yellow bud, two large green leaves, roots and a gold rim. The plate has "Aconite" and "Spode" written on the base. A sticker with the handwritten information "ATKINSON/Pitt St" and a circular sticker with a serrated edge with "505" handwritten on it are also attached to the base.
Tea set comprising tea pot, serving dish, plate, jug, sugar bowl, 11 coffee cups, 12 tea cups and 12 saucers. The set features a cream body decorated with powder blue panels, gilt motifs and edging.
A small gold Sweetheart Brooch modelled on the design of an 11th (Taranaki Rifles) badge featuring Mount Taranaki / Egmont in the background and houses and farms in the foreground.= A scroll runs along the bottom inscribed with "TARANAKI XI RIFLES / REGIMENT". The pin on the back has been broken off. A "9CT " hallmark is stamped on the rear.
Framed commemorative scroll for Private Charles Lawrence Sattler of the Wellington Infantry Regiment, N.Z.E.F. Sattler was killed in action October 30th, 1916. The text reads: "He whom this scroll commemorates was numbered among those who at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self-sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom. Let those who come after see to it that his name be not forgotten." Below this in red is: "Pte. Charles Lawrence Sattler / Wellington Inf. Regt. N.Z.E.F."
Wooden chest in two parts with four drawers. The top 'drawer' is hinged along the bottom edge and folds out to reveal a writing desk and interior shelving. The drawers have brass handles and locks that are inset into the drawer front so as to be flush with the surface.
Heavy block metal smoothing iron with twisted handle design. Long and thin with pointed nose, high sides and moulded top edge. c.1840s.
A pair of pedestal vases with two handles. The main body is glazed in green with handpainted scenes and elaborately decorated in gilt. The handles are white with gilt decoration overall. Each vase has two handpainted scenes on opposite sides of the main body also framed with gilt. One vase shows two cherubs/angles examining the contents of a box and seated on a cloud. The other vase shows two cherubs/angels on a cloud, one playing a wind pipe and the other is dancing. The opposite scene on both vases depicts a bouquet of fruits and flowers although the arrangement is unique to each vase.
Cup, saucer and sugar basin decorated with a red ochre transfer design and handpainted flowers. Edges are trimmed with a yellow/gold colour.
