Fan
A cream-coloured brisé fan made of fine guardsticks of ivory or bone. The fan has nineteen guardsticks that are held together by a brass rivet and a silk ribbon that is weaved through. Each guardstick is 2.5cm wide at the top and tapers to 0.5cm at the bottom. They are finely carved with abstract shapes that are identical on the inside seventeen sticks. The two sticks on the outside ends have different matching shapes than those on the inside. The fan is finished with two cream-coloured tassels attached to the brass rivet which is made of cotton thread with a small white bead on each.

Name/Title
A three-part wedding headpiece with a headband and two matching hair ornaments. The headband is a half-circle shaped wire that is embellished with a cluster of gold paper flowers and leaves that have been coated in a layer of wax followed by a lustrous glaze. Underneath the wax, the paper has been shaded with a dark line around the edges and midrib of the leaves. On each side of the headband there is a narrow gold elastic band attached. The stem of the two hair ornaments is made of wire that has been wrapped in paper. From the stem there are shoots of flowers and leaves that match those found on the headband.

A white satin wedding gown with cream-coloured cut velvet flowers all over. The gown has a variation of long kimono sleeves that narrow snugly around the wrist and a mandarin collar. The front of the bodice has a seam up the centre front and two darts for shaping. The skirt is very full and has a slight train in the back. It is lined with rayon. There is a hook and eye at the collar on the centre back and a zip that runs from the neckline until just below the waist.

Name/Title
A white wedding veil made of cotton netting. The veil is a large rectangular shape that is edged with machine chain-stitching. The stitching runs straight down the sides and forms flat bows at intervals. Along two sides, the chain-stitching is scalloped and continues to form bows. In the four corners there is an elaborate white silk flower appliqué design. The design has three fabric flowers applied to the netting with a chain-stitch and surrounded by chain-stitched scrolls and leaves.

A white grosgrain and lace wedding gown. It has a boned, strapless bodice, fashioned to form pleats at the waist which fall into deep folds in the skirt. a wide scalloped lace trim is attached to the skirt with two tiny pearls sewn at the top of each scallop. The overblouse of the lace has long narrow sleeves and a boat shaped scalloped neckline with tiny pearls sprinkled on the lace. The overblouse is attached to a narrow grosgrain waistband. There is a large lace covered bow and streamers at the back.

A bodice from a wedding outfit made of olive-coloured and black silk taffeta. The garment is boned and fastens down the front with fabric buttons. There is black piping around the arms and collar and a curved front with a small band collar. A black panel extends from around the back of the neck to the front bust and ends with a ribbon on the left-hand side. The cuffs have a band of kilting and a ribbon on top. The hem is cut up along the sides of the hips and tapers back down to a row of pleats at the back rear.

A small 9 carat gold cup mounted on a contoured wooden base. The cup has three handles in the shape of an ornate inverted number "7". An inscription on the cup reads: "Presented to/ MR & MRS C.H. BURGESS/ On the occasion of their Golden Wedding/ 15th November 1931./ AS A TOKEN OF ESTEEM BY THE/ CITIZENS OF NEW PLYMOUTH." Makers marks and the name "A. Kohn" are impressed immediately above inscription. Two circular metal pieces inserted into the top and underside of the wooden base read: "A. Kohn Jeweller / By Appointment / 178 Queen Street / Auckland." The cup is contained in a lined black cardboard box with "A. Kohn Jeweller / By Appointment / 178 Queen Street / Auckland. N.Z" stamped on the lid.

A nylon dress and petticoat for an infant. The garments are very simply designed with a short yoke and a rounded neck on the front. The back of the petticoat has a "V"-shaped split which is tied with two sets of attached ties. The arms holes, neck and hem are all trimmed with white lace. The dress has small cap sleeves and a collar. It is completely trimmed with lace.

A cream-coloured satin wedding gown with a short-sleeved bodice and train at the hem. The gown is adorned with two rows of twenty-seven satin-covered buttons that line down the two front seams. The neckline has a fringe of silver, white and pearl beading. The cuffs, neckline and waistline have matching lace that is made of cream-coloured chiffon with a satin-stitched shell-shaped pattern. Along the inside seams of the bodice are bones and at the back hook and eye fastenings. The garment is lined with a heavy silk and the hem is edged with a row of finely pleated lace. There are two separate long sleeves that are made of satin with rows of horizontal tucks that go with the gown.

A white souvenir matchbook for the wedding of David and Linda. " DAVID & LINDA / Married 12/8/78 " is written on the front in gold along with a cartoon wedding scene. "THANKS / for being with us " is written on the back underneath a picture of cupid holding a bow. " ALLENCO MATCH AUCKLAND " is written on a spine of the matchbook. A picture of wedding bells and ribbons features on the other spine. All of the matches are intact.

A white lawn, hand made infant's bonnet. There are two fine drawstring ties inserted at the front of bonnet that are fixed at one side and another tie located 5cm below which is also fixed. Around the front edge of the bonnet is a 4cm-strip of eyelet and floral embroidery. There is a circular insertion of the same embroidery at the back of the bonnet. There are two bands of extremely fine hem stitching on either side of front band.

Name/Title
A gold-coloured taffeta and lighter-toned silk princess-style gown. The elbow-length sleeves and sections of the side, centre and back of the skirt are ruched. The front of the bodice has a triangular-shaped ruched panel made of the lighter-toned silk and edged with piping. On the bottom of the skirt, there are bands of kilting alternating with the light satin trim. The full skirt is shaped for a bustle in the rear with a train that is trimmed with handmade needlepoint lace. The gown includes a small piped pocket on the front left-hand side and a centre back opening with satin-covered buttons. The collar fastens with a hook and eye and the inside of the train has a metal loop for holding up the skirt.

A cream-coloured lace bonnet with remains of peach coloured silk ties in bunches at either side. There is one remaining tie. The bonnet mainly consists of narrow strips of lace joined together and backed with netting. It is trimmed with scalloped lace and there is a lace medallion inserted at the back. Pale blue French knots decorate the outermost strip of lace.
