Portrait painting of unknown boy. He is rather chubby and is clothed in a brown suit with white frilly collar. Thought to be Samuel Newell as a boy - Newell arrived in New Plymouth on the 'St Michaell' in December 1852 and became the licensee of the Masonic Hotel.

Oval-shaped painted miniature of Jessie Home as a young child. Jessie has short, golden, curly hair. She is wearing a pale blue or green dress with short sleeves, pleats and a tie in the front. The painting is contained in an elaborate gold frame with a velvet backing.

Jessie (1899-1991, married name Livingston) was the daughter of Taranaki doctor George Home.
