This is a copy photograph of an original watercolour possibly by Hamar Humphrey Arden (ca. 1860s). The current location of the original watercolour is unknown. The large three-storied wooden Egmont Steam Flour Mill on Powderham/Courtenay Street dominates the composition. A horse-drawn cart, ladden with light-coloured bags is parked outside the mill. There are two figures entering the building through a door on the right. A large chimney stands beside the left hand side of the mill. Several small buildings are nestled amongst trees and bush behind and besdie the mill. Mount Taranaki is visible in the distance on the left, while the barracks on Marsland hill is visible on the upper right of the composition.

Joseph and Mary Wooldridge are gathered with their five sons in a grassy area in front of some large trees. Jospeh and Mary are seated infront of their sons, they hold a large framed photographic portrait of a man between them.The framed picture is that of Harry Wooldridge, whom passed tragically in 1906 on a ship SS Valencia, the wreck of 1906. The five sons stand in a row behind their parents and have been identified as, from left to right, Joseph, Eb, Stan, Bert and Ernest. The sons wear flowers in their button holes.

Bledisloe addresses the crowd from a raised platform outside the bank, there are people seated behind him on the platform. The bank building is decorated with a New Zealand flag and the Union Jack.
