Name/Title
A furry mechanical dog with a moveable tongue, tail and ears. The main body is tan and the right ear, tail and collar are a darker brown. The nose, tongue and feet are painted metal. The dog moves on four wheels, two of which are attached to a circular disc for sideways movement. The mechanism is designed to be powered by two D sized batteries which are inserted vertically at the base. It has a red plastic on/off switch.

A ceramic swan- shaped toothpick holder with a bowl in the body. A hand-coloured transfer print of Pukekura Park featuring Poet's Bridge and Mount Taranaki / Egmont features on the side. The rim of the bowl and the swan's eyes are edged in gold material. " Pukekura Park and Mt.Egmont New Plymouth,N.Z. " is printed in black ink along the lower half of the scene. " VICTORIA / MADE IN / GERMANY / FINE CHINA " is printed in black ink on the base of the swan. The first and last lines curve around the edges of a wreath edged, ochre coloured base with Queen Victoria's crown at centre. Beneath the crown is printed the second and third lines.

Name/Title
A pair of mounted scrimshaw bullock horns joined to a wooden trophy shield. The join is covered with black velvet and the horns are decorated with punched and inked dots. There are three paua shell inlays on the right facing horn and three similar ones on the left facing horn are missing. There is a metal wire hanger on the reverse and " Nell Christie Coll/ 1967 " is written on a paper label adhered to the reverse. Another handwritten label, which was copied of the original Christie collection label is also written on the reverse.- "Carved Bullock Horns / By a Maori / (1920)."

Symbols on the left facing horn, described from the tip inwards, are:

1). A Masonic symbol.
2). A dog.
3). A branch with berries (possibly a Miro branch) with two birds on it.
4). A waka taua with five paddlers & one helmsman. " WAKATAUA " is written above it.
5). A Maori man wearing a korowai and holding a patu in his upraised arm
6). Images 4 and 5 are overtopped with " E PENEI
ANA TE AHUA O TE MAORI / I MUA
ME HAERE KI TE / WHAWHAI ME TE AHUA O TENEI." (Literal translation of this is " That is what Maori used to look like before they went to war. And this is what it looks like.")
7). There are three small rough squares which have been cut for paua shell inlay. One is filled with a dark waxy substance, one is filled with paua and one is empty.


Symbols on the left facing horn, described from the tip inwards, are:

A horse hoof with gold paint trim around the top and the bottom. Three natural dark lines run down the centre. There is a triangular shape painted in gold paint at the bottom centre of these lines in gold paint which joins onto the trim. Seven clots of gold paint are spaced at regular intervals around lower third of hoof. " Stella 1910 " is marked on it.

A thin, black imitation leather wallet with a double flap. The front flap features a kiwi shape and a fern leaf in gold. At the top the words "In / The Field / France", and at the bottom it reads " Xmas 1917 ". The back flap has a picture of buildings in gold. The front flap has a pocket with large opening in it on the inside, and it appears that one or two pockets may have been cut out.
