Sunflower whey butter wrapper. Gold coloured foil covered paper with a green, blue and yellow label. Label depicts an image of three large yellow sunflowers within a double oval. A series of vertical blue lines surround the oval. Text within the oval reads: "SUNFLOWER WHEY BUTTER". 500g NET". Series of evenly spaced blue vertical lines above and below central label. Lines are divided into 50g lots (for baking purposes). Text on one series of lines reads: "KEEP IN A COOL PLACE AND AWAY FROM ANY ARTICLE LIKELY TO INJURE ITS FINE QUALITY AND FLAVOUR". Text on the other side reads: "PACKED BY THE MOA-FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY LTD. INGLEWOOD." In fair condition. Used to be wrapped around a block of wood and used as a display prop emulating a block of butter. Consequently there are numerous permanent creases where wrapper has been folded around the block. Tear and area of loss top left corner. Unknown maker.

The main central section bears the following text in red and blue: "SALTED Anchor NEW ZEALAND PURE CREAMERY BUTTER 1 lb NET (454g)". Three small anchors and Arabic text accompany this text. The remainder of the text is in Arabic. A small white adhesive label on wrapper bears the following text: "Kuwait". The butter was probably exported to here. The following text is printed along the top (upside down when viewed flat): "PRODUCED AND EXPORTED BY NEW ZEALAND DAIRY BOARD WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND". Eltham Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd butter wrapper. Consists of a plain sheet of paper (26.5 x 19cm) with a blue printed ink label in the middle which reads: "Eltham / PURE CREAMERY / 1 lb NET BUTTER". Below this the follow text is printed within a rectangle "ONE POUND NET WEIGHT / PASTEURISED FREE FROM PRESERVATIVE / MANUFACTURED AT ELTHAM BY / Eltham Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd." The same is printed above the middle label but is inverted (so that it reads the right way when folded over the pound of butter). Unknown lithographer / printer. c.early 1960s. In fairly good condition. Slightly discoloured around the outside edges and numerous minor light creases scattered throughout the hole body.
